The Tensilsaw, powered by a 20,000 RPM motor, is used to saw straight strips from glass laminates, composites or hard plastics.  The thin diamond blade cuts the material for insertion into the Tensilkut template, or for flexural or other tests without heating or burning the strip edges.  Strip widths of ¼” to 1” can be accomplished with the Tensilsaw.  A Plexiglas guard above the blade acts as a chip shield.

 

               Most materials which are typically cut on the Tensilsaw generate a great deal of dust.  Tensilvac is ideal for removal of much of that dust as the material is cut.  The Tensilvac system includes a 5 gallon canister, and the slots machined in the control area and table surface, to remove a majority of the dust and chips created during the cutting process.  Tensilvac must be ordered with the Tensilsaw for installation during fabrication; retrofitting to an existing machine is done only at extra cost.
