TENSILBITS
For Use with all Tensilkut II Models
and
All 10-20 through 10-70 Tensilkut I Models
For optimum surface finish and contour duplication on your flat test specimens, you need carbide cutting tools engineered specifically for high speed machining with the Tensilkut machine. Super cutting edge sharpness combined with the proper angles of cut and relief are essential to achieve the fine shavings required for non-deformed specimen edges.
The listing below suggests the correct 1/2” diameter Tensilbits for a variety of applications, including yours. Please call us at (865) 982-6300 or email tensilbits@tensilkut.com for pricing information or to place an order; all bits are stocked for immediate shipment. For your convenience, we accept credit cards for Tensilbit and Master Template orders. For a closer look at a specific Tensilbit, click on the part number.
40-71
Tensilbit is a 2 flute, carbide tipped bit. Suggested
applications include steel, aluminum, copper, and brass. It is also
available with a Titanium Nitride Coating (40-71TiN).
40-72 Tensilbit is a 2 flute, solid carbide bit. Suggested applications include steel, stainless, and soft plastics.
40-73 is a 4 flute, solid carbide bit. Suggested applications include stainless, and hard plastics.
40-74 is a solid carbide, 8 flute bit. Suggested applications include plastics, and hard metals such as stainless.
40-75 is a solid carbide, burr type bit. Suggested applications include ceramics, fiberglass, rubber, composites, epoxies and Kevlar*.
40-76 is a diamond plated, straight shanked Tensilbit. It performs well at cutting ceramics and Kevlar*. It cannot be used on gummy materials, because the diamond plating will be ruined.
Please Note: For best results in cutting Kevlar, we suggest use of the 40-75 Tensilbit for cutting all but the final .005” of the samples, with the 40-76 Tensilbit used to remove the last .005” and eliminate the frayed edges commonly experienced when cutting this material.
If your machine is a 10-10 Tensilkut I, you need the 40-60 series, ¼” diameter Tensilbit. Click here to view a listing and photos of the 40-60 series Tensilbits available.
For the CNC Tensilkut III, we offer a special line of Tensilbits. Please click here for more information.
