40-60 TENSILBITS
For use with 10-10 Tensilkut I
The ¼” diameter, 40-60 series Tensilbit has been specially designed for use with the compact, high speed 10-10 series Tensilkut I. As with the larger, ½” diameter 40-70 Tensilbits, the super cutting edge sharpness combined with the proper angles of cut and relief achieve the fine shavings required for non-deformed specimen edges. The listing below suggests the correct Tensilbits for a variety of applications, including yours. Please call us at (865) 982-6300 for pricing information or to place an order; all bits are stocked for immediate shipment. For your convenience, we accept credit card orders for Tensilbit and Master Template orders placed via phone at (865) 982-6300 or fax at (865) 982-6347. 40-62
Tensilbits are 2 flute, solid carbide bits. Suggested
applications include steel, aluminum, copper and brass.
40-63 Tensilbits are solid carbide, 4 flute bits. Suggested applications include steel and plastics.
40-64 Tensilbits are 8 flute, solid carbide bits. Suggested applications include plastics.
40-65 Tensilbits are solid carbide, burr type bits. Suggested applications include ceramics, fiberglass, rubber, composites, epoxies and Kevlar*.
40-66 Tensilbits are diamond coated, straight shanked bits. Suggested applications include ceramics and Kevlar*.
*Please Note: For best results in cutting Kevlar, we suggest use of the 40-65 Tensilbit for cutting all but the final .005” of the samples, with the 40-66 Tensilbit used to remove the last .005” and eliminate the frayed edges commonly experienced when cutting this material.
For ALL Tensilkut machines EXCEPT the 10-10 series Tensilkut I, the ½” diameter, 40-70 series Tensilbit must be used. The ¼” diameter 40-60 Tensilbits are too small for all of those machines, and cannot be used to cut specimens which are properly sized. Click here to view those bits.
